I have been focusing my writing in queer fantasy for a while. I have about 3 WIPs in this genre. You see, I love romantasy. Fourth Wing, ACOTAR, Alchemised… however as a queer man, I never feel completely satisfied or seen. Now while I am thrilled about the Heated Rivalry boom (I mean whew Shane), there isn’t a ton in the romantasy niche. That’s not to say it doesn’t exist. I’ve read a few I loved! The Power of Love series by Ross J. Kinnaird comes to mind. But I am a reader before a writer, and I always devour a book in under a week, then have a massive book hangover. It’s hard to fill that particular niche with what’s available. So I’ve been writing books I want to read. Now, the issue is that I have too many ideas. I’ve decided to focus on my Hunter x Dungeon book. Think Solo Leveling meets yaoi guideverse. I have my partner who has a past in fight choreography helping me make sure my fights scenes make sense and the world building is extensive. I’m proud of it so far and cannot wait to share more.
